Sydney June Alfeld, 21, of Simsbury, Connecticut, was born on January 26, 1994 in Tucson, Arizona. She passed away on January 16, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the daughter of the late Janet Lynn Alfeld.

Sydney was an avid lover of all animals, especially horses. She loved her horse, Avi, and enjoyed jumping and competing in horse shows. Sydney was a talented artist and a creative writer. She was beautiful, kind and enjoyed music. Sydney was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. She was our soul sister!

Sydney is survived by her grandmother, Diane Alfeld of Simsbury; her brothers, Zach and Taylor Alfeld, her uncles and aunts, Chad and Denise Alfeld, Michael and Emily Alfeld and Maggie (Alfeld) and Andy Barham; her step-grandmother, Marilyn Alfeld and her cousins Emma and Ellie Alfeld. In addition to her mother, she was predeceased by her grandfather, Stanley F. Alfeld.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 23, at 1:00 pm at First Church of Christ, 689 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT, 06111 or online to cthumane.org.
