Gladys (Paine) Kelly, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Hadsell) Paine. She married her high school sweetheart, Edward L. Kelly, Jr. who predeceased her, and they graduated from Simsbury High School in 1947. She will always be remembered for her love of life, her love for the UCONN girls basketball team, the beach, golf, paddle tennis, delivery of meals-on-wheels, and her 30-year service as a school crossing guard. Words cannot describe how Gladys touched the hearts of everyone she met. She is survived by her three daughters, Rosemary Kelly; Katherine Marino, her husband, Robert Marino and their two children, Rachel and Amanda; and Barbara Pinto, her husband, Timothy Pinto, Sr. and their two children, Jennifer and Timothy; as well as her grandson, Jeffrey Kelly, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Kelly, and his wife, Susan (Chisholm) Kelly. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Tuesday, July 12th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Wednesday, July 13th, 9:15 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Rd., West Simsbury. Burial will follow in Simsbury Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
