Doris Q. Raufeisen

Doris Evelyn Quish Raufeisen, widow of Robert Raufeisen and daughter of Herbert and Gertrude (Bennis) Quish, died on Friday, December 23, 2016. She was born in Hartford, CT and has lived in Simsbury, CT for 50 years. She is survived by her children, Kathleen McKenna (Paul) of Westfield, MA, Nancy Miller (John) of Springfield, MA, Linda Costin (Gary) of Forestdale, MA, Robert Raufeisen of Griswold, CT, and Patricia Cahill (Clifford) of Granby, CT. Doris also leaves nine grandchildren, Christopher McKenna, Jonathan Miller, Daniel Costin, Alyssa Nichol, Julianne McKenna, Laura Winters, Kevin McKenna, Timothy Miller, and Kayla Costin. Doris also leaves a great-granddaughter Siena Evelyn Nichol and a new great-granddaughter to arrive soon in Alaska. Doris is survived by her beloved canine companion Bridget. Doris was predeceased by three brothers, William Quish, Robert Quish, U.S.A.F. MIA in 1943, Herbert Quish, and several nieces and nephews. Doris loved to knit, travel, relax on the family sailboat, and above all, spend time with family. She was a founding member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in West Simsbury, CT. The family would like to thank McLean Home Health Services, and especially Nurse Linda Prell, for their support over the last year.
Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury, CT on Tuesday, December 27th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral will be Wednesday, December, 28th, 10:15 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road in West Simsbury. Burial will immediately follow the service at Simsbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Catherine of Siena Church or a local veterans’ association.
