Elizabeth Claire Rogers left this life on Monday, March 30, 2009. She was 22 years old. Elizabeth was a senior at The University of the South in Sewanee, TN where she would have been graduating in May with a Bachelors Degree in Art History. She was born in Richmond, VA and had lived in Dallas, TX and Baltimore, MD prior to moving to Simsbury. She attended St. Catherine’s School, Richmond, VA, the Episcopal School of Dallas, TX and Garrison Forest School in Baltimore, MD where she graduated in May of 2005. Elizabeth is survived by her parents, Thomas and Kent Rogers of Simsbury; her twin brother, Thomas; her sister, Helen; her grandparents, Frank and Betty Walton; her uncle and aunt, Robert and Patricia Rogers; uncle, Edward Walton and cousins, J.T., Nicholas and Anne Rogers. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Monday, April 6, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 11 Church Street, Tariffville with the Reverend Thomas J. Furrer officiating. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The University of the South, 735 University Avenue, Sewanee, TN 37383.
