Obituary for Fredrick Heintz

Fredrick Clayton Heintz, 64, of Simsbury, beloved husband of Dawn (Piccoli) Heintz, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was born in NJ, son of the late Clayton and Lillian Heintz and grew up in the Farmington Valley. He received his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Central Connecticut State College. Fred was an IT Consultant for Sixth Floor Consulting, Diageo and Heublein, Inc. for many years. He also was a member of the APICS Association. Fred was an avid oenophile, a lover of dogs, and enjoyed tennis, softball and especially cooking.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his siblings, Jerilyn and George Briggs; Clifford and Yolande Heintz; Michael Heintz and Kristina Heintz; his sister-in-law, Claudia Holder and her husband Charles; his brother-in-law Brian Piccoli; his special niece, Samantha Piccoli; and many other nieces and nephews.

His family will receive friends at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Wednesday, September 26th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A celebration of his life will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saint Francis Foundation, FBO CICU Nursing Staff, 2nd Floor, 95 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105 whose staff was exceedingly caring and compassionate to Fred and his family.
