Catherine Ann (Smith) Gilmore, 51, of North Granby, died Sunday, July 3, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She was born January 1, 1965 in Elizabeth, NJ, beloved daughter of Catherine Teresa (Rock) Smith of Houston, TX and the late William George Smith, and had lived in Sayreville, NJ prior to moving to North Granby 16 years ago. Cathy was a graduate of The University of Hartford, Class of 1987, having received her Bachelors Degree in Math. She was a Life Insurance Policy Manager for Mass Mutual for many years. Cathy was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Simsbury and the Wine Book Club. She enjoyed playing tennis, family vacations at Long Beach Island, playing the guitar, attending concerts and doing puzzles.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her loving children, Meghan Gilmore, Kyle Gilmore and Kerry Gilmore, all of North Granby; her sisters, Stephanie Peters and her husband Mickey of Houston, TX; Jen Perry of Houston, TX; her brother, Michael Smith and his wife Kaylee of Murphy, TX and aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Thursday, July 7th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral will be Friday, July 8th, 9:15 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Simsbury. Burial will be private.
